Playground Rebuild
In September 2024, Hurricane Helene came through Augusta and toppled 113 trees on our property, including about 35 on our playground. While we have mourned the loss of this playground, we hope to rebuild it by August 2025 and reopen it to the community once again. A playground task force composed of church and community members has been at work to design and rebuild our playground. We are making an additional effort to build a more accessible and inclusive playground to reflect Covenant's stated core values of hospitality, compassion, and inclusiveness.

We hope that you will consider joining us as we rebuild. Our new playground will cost considerably more than our old playground, and we are grateful for your contributions that will allow us to improve this community resource. Scroll down to see renderings or click here to see a video. You may give online by clicking this link and selecting the "playground equipment" fund. Checks should be payable to "Covenant Presbyterian Church" with "playground" in the memo line and may be mailed or dropped off in the church office. If you would like to speak to someone from the task force for more information, then please reach out to the church office.

We have received funds from insurance and individual donations in excess of $200,000. Our design proposal is $243,577. If we raise additional funds above this total, then we will use them for a water fountain, landscaping, fencing, and additional elements on the back of the playground such as an extended walking path and an outdoor classroom/chapel.
